Oct/07 End-of-season announcements

All good things come to an end, as they say, and our tennis season at the club is almost over. These are our end-of-season announcements:

  • Last day with staff on site: October 12. Thereafter, there will be no access to the washrooms and  water fountain in the community building.
  • Last day with lights on in the evening on a regular basis: October 12. The lights will be turned on only if tennis lessons are scheduled, and will be turned off at 9 p.m. If there are no lessons, there will be no lights. Check the court bookings before planning to play tennis in the evening. If court 8 is booked for lessons until 9 p.m., then the lights will be on.
  • Net removal: We usually leave the nets up for as long as possible, well into November, depending on the weather, and then remove them gradually. We'll update the website to announce the net removal when that time comes. If the City of Ottawa asks us to close the club by a specific date, we'll need to comply.

Aug/31 Great news: we have new staff!

The club board was hard at work this weekend going through the resumes of applicants for the positions of court attendants that we recently advertised, and then interviewing promising candidates. We have great news: the board selected two young individuals, and trained them so that they can start working on September 2. This means that the lights will be turned on, and access to water and washrooms will be available while staff is on site. The club-organized social round robins will restart on Thursday, September 4, and continue until October 9. The last day with attendants on site will be October 12. Thereafter, the club remains open for members until the City informs us to close the club for winter. More updates will follow, so please come back for details and read the club newsletter.

We'd like to thank to all applicants for the club attendant positions. We'll keep your resumes on file for consideration in the 2026 season.
